Castorland Puzzle Review by Mandy

Castorland is an established brand with a solid reputation for quality, having been in the business for 25 years. They have a lot of floral, landscape, and photographic type images in their collection.

I had never tried one, simply because I couldn’t find an image that appealed to me. Recently, I saw a photo of Girls Day Out  and it was so pretty! I thought I had to try.

I wasn’t a fan of this puzzle. Keep in mind that we are all different, and we all like different things, so my opinion is my own.

The box was fine, but it wasn’t as sturdy as I like and the cover image is slightly obscured by the logo on the bottom. This is particularly disappointing when there is no poster. They do display some of their other images on the back of the box.

The pieces were a bit thinner than Ravensburger. Not terrible, but I do prefer a thicker piece and they were a nice variety of standard shapes. I was surprised to learn that Castorland has different piece sizes for different piece counts. My 1000 pieces were a decent size, but their larger puzzles have smaller pieces. There was little puzzle dust, and the pieces did fit well.

I completed the border and started to sort the women’s clothes. I was doing fine until I realized that I just wasn’t having fun. Although the image is really pretty, I am not a fan of puzzles with art that is so fuzzy. There was too much sky and all the colors started to blend together.

This was one of the rare times that I didn’t complete the puzzle.

The quality was just fine and better than a lot of puzzles that I have tried. If you like the images, then you will really enjoy this brand. Additionally, they have a great variety of larger piece count puzzles to choose from.
