It's rare to find art so intriguing that you can literally develop an inner dialogue with it. But, that's the unique magic of Freeman's pieces. A red feather floats above an empty birdcage in the Vigil. What happened to the bird and why are the boys sad? Lisa implores the viewer to answer these questions and more.

"My hope is that my work opens up a dialogue," says Freeman, "to consider alternate points of view and how we as people of the world got to this point." Well, one thing is for sure, she has us talking.

Freeman is a self-made artist and a prominent member of the Athens art community. Her works have been featured in galleries and exhibits since 2006 and she has created nine solo exhibitions. Lisa Freeman has worked in the medium of painting, but recently her art has shifted to a focus on assemblage art using found objects. Drawn to discarded objects and photographs, Freeman explores the mystery of the forgotten, allowing the objects to lead the narrative and inviting the viewer to participate in the mystery.
